The death of Aaron Stivers occurred yesterday morning. He had been very feeble during the entire fall, but his illness did not develop a serious turn until the latter part of the week, after which he sank rapidly. The funeral took place to-day, at the residence, Rev. Edward B. Heaton, pastor of the M. E. Church, officiating. Relatives from Des Moines, Burlington and elsewhere arrived to attend the burial. The remains were interred in the Afton cemetery.

Deceased came here from Osceola with his family soon after the establishment of the college, his daughter, Miss Susie, having been with that institution since its founding. They possess the highest esteem of this community and are assured that all feel a deep and tender sympathy for them in their grief.
