Mrs. Goldie Thomas Speed died at the home of her son, Roland Speed in Creston, Iowa, Feb. 25, after a long illness. She was born and raised in Adams county, graduating from the Corning high school in 1904.

She was married to Joseph Speed in 1906. To this union five children were born, two preceding her in death. Her husband passed away in January 1953.

She leaves three sons, Roland Speed of Creston, Merle of Elliott and Kenneth of Villisca, also three daughter-in-law, six grandchildren, one sister Eunice Keeney of Villisca, and one brother, Floyd, of Rogers, Ark.

She was the youngest daughter of the late Dan and Rachel Kindred Thomas.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at Coen Funeral home in Creston. Burial was in Graceland cemetery in Creston
