Mrs. Kinkennon of Creston Killed in Adair Auto Crash Husband and Two Children Also In Accident

Mrs. Thomas Kinkennon, 40, of 1191 North Vine street, died at Greater Community hospital at 7:15 last night of injuries sustained in an auto accident near Greenfield about 5 p.m. yesterday. Her husband suffered cuts about the head and arms in the accident but two young sons, Leroy, 9, and Leland,13, escaped unjured.

The Kinkennon car collided with a truck driven by Earl Conrad of Greenfield at an intersection on a township road two miles west and two miles north of Greenfield. According to Max Lyden, Adair county sheriff, Mrs. Kinkennon was crushed beneath the car as it overturned. Other occupants were thrown clear.

View Obstructed

High weeds and a corn field obstructed the view at the intersection. The sheriff said the Kinkennon car was moving south and was struck broadside by the truck, approaching from the west.

Mrs. Kinkennon was rushed to the hospital here by ambulance, but died shorty after arrival.

The Kinkennon's were enroute to Creston from Guthrie Center,where they had gone to obtain a birth record for there son, Bernard who recently went to California.

Nine Children

Surviving are her husband, six sons, Bernard of California and Richard, Carroll, Leland, Byron and LeRoy of the home; and three daughters, Mrs Lenore Kilmer of Minnesota and Fern and Delores Kinkennon of the home.

Funeral arrangements have not been made.
