Died in Dodge Tp., on the first day of October, 1888, two days after her fifty-seventh birthday, Mrs. Minerva J. Reeves.

Mrs. Reeves nee McMurtry was born in Henderson, Illinois, Sept. 19, 1831, and was married to Reuben Reeves, Mary, 1850. She moved with her family to Dodge Tp., in March, 1874, where she has since resided. Four years ago she was attacked with paralysis and all medical aid proved useless and she kept growing worse, the last year being an invalid and patient sufferer until death relieved her while she was surrounded by her family and kind friends. She was a loving neighbor, even willing to give a helping hand in times of sickness and death. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn our loss.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Myers and her remains were laid away in the Cedar Grove Cemetery where friends and relatives have preceded her.
