Ruth "Clare" Luddington, 55, of Creston died July 17, 2006, at her home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday July 21, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Open visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends 5 to 8 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Christian wake service at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. The Rev. Leonard Kenkel will officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials will be established in her name.
Ruth "Clare" Luddington, daughter Ruth Clare (Ryan) and Frederick Walton Barnes, was born Sept. 22, 1950, in Memphis, Tenn. She graduated from Clarion High School in Tampa Fla., in 1968.
On Aug. 9, 1969, Clare married Steven James Luddington in Las Vegas. Nev. She lived all her married life in Creston and worked as an insurance agent for Tyler Insurance. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Crestmoor Golf Club.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Luddington of Creston; son Gregory Wade (wife Megan) Luddington of Glenwood; daughter Lori Lynn Luddington (special friend Quentin Greenough) of Waukee; two brothers, Rick (wife Sandy) Barnes and Danny (wife Ginny) Barnes, all of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Nancy Kirkpatrick of Laughlin, Nev., Barbara Barnes of Tampa, Fla., and Linda Luddington (husband Tom) Northup of Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Clare was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Shirley Luddington Hill, father-in-law Leo Luddington, brother Larry Barnes and brother-in-law Jack Kirkpatrick.
