Eveline Melvin, daughter of Joseph and Sarah Delaney Melvin, was born in Washington County, Tenn. Dec. 30, 1834. In the fall of 1858 she moved with her parents to Illinois where she resided till 1889, when she, her brother and two sisters moved to Taylor County, Iowa. She united with the M. E. church in Tennessee and has since remained a devoted and consistent christian. She died Aug. 11, 1906 aged 71 yrs, 7 mos. and 11 days. She leaves to mourn her loss three brothers and two sisters.The Funeral was held at the residence and was conducted by Rev. W. B. Thompson of Bedford. Interment was at the Siam cemetery.
