Sylvanus G. Caswell, my great grandfather, resided in Buckingham Township, Tama Co.,with his wife Catherine M. and his older children Maggie (or Margaret), Cyrus, Edward, and George during the 1870 and 1880 Censuses. Maggie I believe married Wilton E. Thayer in Tama Co. in 1874. By the 1900 Census, Catherine was a widow and living with George and his family in Plato Township, Sioux Co. I would appreciate any information anyone has about Sylvanus Caswell and his family. I am especially interested in pinpointing his year and county of death so I can search for his death certificate. Sylvanus Caswell was born in New York in 1810. His parents names are unknown, but they were probably both born in England. Thank you in advance.
