Loren Dean Feuerbach
1931-2001Loren Dean Feuerbach was born on January 26, 1931, in Elberon, Iowa, the son of Leonard & Rose Kalina Feuerbach. Loren was raised in the Geneseo Township area of Tama County and graduated from Geneseo High School with the Class of 1949. On June 9, 1951, Loren was united in marriage to Ivonne Elliott at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dysart, Iowa. They lived on the family farm their entire married life. LorenÂ’s life revolved around farming and raising cattle. He was a 4-H leader and traveled to many livestock shows with his family. He was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. He played basketball in high school and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He also enjoyed traveling, reading and watching movies. Loren had a wonderful sense of humor. His favorite pastime of all, though, was spending time with his grandchildren. Loren ended his battle with cancer on Monday, April 2, 2001, at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Jeanette Hook. He is survived by his wife, Ivonne of Dysart, 2 sons, Mark and his wife Carolyn of Dysart, David of La Porte City; four daughters, Elaine Moore and husband Robert of Hudson, Catherine “Cay” Olson and husband Robert of Clarion, Diane Horrigan and husband Timothy of Waterloo, Julie Arndt and husband Steven from Geneseo, Illinois, and sixteen grandchildren, Sara,Matt, Elliot, Erica, Ali, Audrey, Joseph, Katie, Annie, Maggie, Jacob, Jason, Jenny, Jessie, Sam & Abby.
DYSART -- Loren Feuerbach, 70, of Dysart, died Monday, April 2, at home of cancer; survivors include his wife, Ivonne; two sons, Mark of Dysart and David of La Porte City; four daughters, Elaine Moore of Hudson, Catherine "Cay" Olson of Clarion, Diane Horrigan of Waterloo and Julie Arndt of Geneseo, Ill.; and 16 grandchildren; he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Hook; services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dysart, with burial in the church cemetery; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Overton Funeral Home, Dysart, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service; a memorial fund will be established.[Posted on Tama County Rootsweb Message Board, May 6, 2000, by Steven Stodola]
