Lee West, Former Toledo Man, Dead in Indiana
Died abt 19 Nov 1944
Lee R. West, a former resident of Toledo, brother of Jesse West of Tama, died suddenly Sunday at his house in Hammond, Indiana. His death was caused by a heart attack. The funeral service was held Wednesday at Hammond, and burial was in Springfield, Mo.
Mr. West was a son of Isaac and Hannah West and was born east of Toledo in Otter Creek township. After completing his schooling he was engaged in the blacksmith business in Toledo for a time. Following his marriage to Edith McClaskey, of Toledo, the couple moved to Chanute, Kan. They have lived in Hammond for several years where he was employed as a blacksmith for an oil refinery company.
He is survived by three brothers, Jesse of Tama, Charles of Springfield, Mo., and Jim, of Kansas, and a sister, Mrs. Mayme Hulse, of Springfield, Mo.
