CHARLES J. DOLEZAL

Charles J. Dolezal, 89, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in rural Clutier. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Vigil Service at 7 PM.

Charles was born on November 13, 1926, on the family farm in rural Toledo, Iowa, the son of Charles and Katie (Chalupnik) Dolezal. On June 22, 1948, he was united in marriage to Martha Svoboda at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in rural Clutier, Iowa. Charles was a farmer his entire life and also was a truck driver, grain buyer and did custom shelling. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama, the KD Lodge and Catholic Order of Foresters for over fifty years and Farm Bureau. Charles loved to visit with people, dance and play cards. Charlie was witty until the very end. Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Martha of Toledo; two daughters, Monica (Bob Berger) Dolezal of Urbandale and Trude (Ed) Moyer of Palmetto, FL; two grandchildren, Amy (Lee) Bowers and Michael (Savannah) Dolezal; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alexandra Bowers; his step-grandchildren, Leah (Bill) Speckin, Emily (Adam) Hoop, Marty (Stephanie) Hoglund, Steve and Erica Moyer; his step-great-grandchildren, Adilyn and Samantha Hoop, Scarlett Hoglund, John and Mark Speckin; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Dolezal and Marcia Tary; one sister-in-law, Mildred Dolezal; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Tom and Jeff Dolezal; one daughter, Kerri Lynn Dolezal; one brother, Edward Dolezal; one sister, Christina (Frank) Kubik; one daughter-in-law, Christine Dolezal; and two step-grandsons, Jason Hill and Kurt Goins.
