Cilia Amidon, 71, of 830 N. Dodge St., died early today at University Hospital after a sudden illness. Services are pending at the Donohue-Lensing Mortuary. Mrs. Amidon was born Jan. 6, 1908, in Bussum, Netherlands. She was a daughter of Herman and Madeline Povel Biegel. She married Horace Amidon on Dec. 17, 1941. She was employed for 10 years at University of Iowa library. Mrs. Amidon was a member of the 19th Century Club of which she was a past president. She was a past board member of the Johnson County Council on Aging. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Philip of Oxford, England, Hollis of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Michael of Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers and three sisters.
