Henriette C. Amidon
(October 28, 1906 - November 16, 1990)

Henriette C Amidon was born October 28, 1906 at Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Henry S. and Hattie May [Criley] Amidon. She received her education in Toledo, graduating from Toledo High School in the class of 1925. Henriette then began working at the Toledo Chronicle and in 1941, she became the Tama County Recorder and held that position until her retirement in 1974. After her retirement Henriette continued to make her home in Toledo where she was active in the Otterbein United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. Rebekah Lodge and was also a 50 year member of the Toledo American Legion Auxiliary and the D.A.R. Henriette was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Harry, Herbert and Hollis; three sisters Hazel, Hester and Harriette. She is survived by one brother Horace Amidon of Iowa City and one sister Helene Galey of Elmira, New York, as well as many nieces and nephews.
