Traer Star Clipper, 20 August 2010Betty J. Keese, 70 of Dysart died Friday, Augusy 13 at her home after an extended illness. Services were held Tuesday, August 17 at the United Methodist Church in Dysart. Burial was at the Dysart Cemetery.
Betty Jean Keese was born December 26, 1939 at Williamsburg, the daughter of Loren and Irma Chandler Frederick. As a young girl she moved with her family to Dysart where she attended school and graduated in 1958. She continued her education at Hawkeye Tech for two years.
On March 27, 1959 she was united in marriage to Larry Keese in Dysart. Larry and Betty made their home on a farm outside of Traer unitl 1986 when they moved to the Dysart Community. Betty was an accomplished seamstress which she continued until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing cards and attending the grandkids school activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Perry. She is survived by her husband Larry of Dysart, three children Patrick Keese of Dallas, Texas, Penny (John) Wierson of Nevada and Peter Keese of Iowa City, 2 grandchildren Michaela and Peyton and one sister Barb (Tim) Edwards of Cedar Rapids.
