TRAER – Gleneva Hansen, 96, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer after an extended illness. A Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Traer. Internment is at Buckingham Cemetery, Traer.

Gleneva Hansen was born February 29, 1912 on her parent’s farm west of Traer, IA, the daughter of Frederick and Annabelle Grapes Wood. She received her education in Dinsdale and graduated from Dinsdale High School in 1919.

On February 25, 1932 she ws united in marriage to Earl Hansen at the home of her parents. Earl and Gleneva made their home farming all their married life north and west of Traer before moving to a farm south of Traer in 1942. In 1967 they left the farm and moved to town and made their home at 901 Meyer Street. In 1995 Gleneva became a resident of the Sunrise Care Center in Traer where her death came on Sunday morning, November 16, 2008 at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl on September 28, 1995. She is survived by nieces and nephews; JoAnn Dunlavey of Traer, IA. LeRoy Wood of Traer, IA, Shirley DeLucia of Columbus, OH, Kevin Wood of Chicago, IL, Byron Wood of Scottsdale, AZ, Dennis Wood of Mt. Dora, FL, Terry Wood of Key West, FL, Carol Wood of VanWert, OH and Deborah Clark of Lees Summit, MO.
