Franklin Charles Earley, 90, was born at Traer, IA on July 10, 1917, the son of Frank Earley and Eva Stevenson Earley.

After Franklin graduated from Traer High in 1934, he attended Coe College and Iowa State.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis M. Staker on August 20, 1938 at Tranquility Presbyterian Church, Traer.

For 25 years he was active in farming. He also spent time in heavy equipment operations, custom soil conservation and later operated F.C. Earley Agency where he sold real estate, insurance and securities.

As a member of Traer United Presbyterian Church, he served in various leadership positions. Franklin had a vision for needs in the community resulting in the development of Sunrise Hill Care Center and the North Tama Activity Center, acting as president of both boards. He was active in many areas of Masonry.

Franklin is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son Craig and wife Sharon of Traer, and 2 daughters, Patricia Moore and Pamela McKinney of Cedar Falls. He has 7 grandchildren and 14 living great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Earley, and sister Elizabeth Byrnes.

Franklin suffered a stroke on Tuesday, November 20 at his home and entered heaven on Saturday, November 24 at Allen memorial Hospital, Waterloo.
