MRS. JOSIE I. NORRIS

Mrs. Josie I. Crabtree Norris, 92,of 109 West Sixth Street, Tama, died at her home Thursday, Dec. 11, 1986, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 o'clock Monday morning from the Harrison Funeral Home, Tama, with Rev. Dewey Grimes, pastor of Assembly of God Church, officiating. Mrs. Helen Berrey was organist and chosen selections included "Amazing Grace" and "How great Thou Art." Mrs. Clara Kupka and Mrs. Anna Rose (Blayer?) cared for the floral tributes.

Pallbearers were Joseph Crawford, Art Flowers, Virgil Pates, Ron Redman, John Pillard and Charles McCord. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama.

As Josie Irene Temple, she was born Nov. 26, 1894 in Polk County, Iowa, daughter of George and Lucy Hamilton Temple. She attended rural school and was employed several years at the King Tower restaurant in Tama.

She was a Gold Star member of the Tama Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Redman, Grand Junction, Esther (Mrs. John) Pillard, Tama, Mrs. Della Flowers, Toledo and Mrs. Maxine O'Hara, North Mankato, MN; one son, Edgar Crabtree, Tama; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, Jefferson and Mrs. Cora Mayhugh, Truth or Consequences, NM.

Preceding her in death were one son, three sisters, four brothers and three grandsons.

A memoral fund has been established.
