Marlyn Eldo Rieck was born on Friday; June 22, 1945 in Belle Plaine; Benton County, Iowa. He was the son of Eldo and Esther (Webert) Rieck. Marlyn attended parochial school in Luzerne; Benton County, Iowa and later high school in Blairstown; Benton County, Iowa before graduating at Dysart High School in Dysart; Tama County, Iowa in the Class of 1963. He then began driving truck for Wieck Bros and Elliott Truck Line for several years. He then worked at John Deere for a time, but his real passion was working in his scrap and salvage business. He was a member of the Dysart American Legion. Marlyn Eldo Rieck, age 63, passed away on Saturday; March 29, 2008 at his home as a result of an accident while working in his salvage yard. Those left to mourn his passing are: His son: Shannon (Cindy) Rieck of Ladora; Iowa County, Iowa and his daughter: Julie Rieck of Saint Petersburg; Pinellas County, Florida. His two brothers: Robert (Judy) Rieck of Waterloo; Black Hawk County, Iowa and Ronald (Nancy) Rieck of Center Point; Linn County, Iowa. Also several nieces, nephews, his companion dog: Millie and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday; April 3, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Friday; April 4, 2008 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart, Iowa. Interment will be in the Dysart Cemetery. A luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall following committal services. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
