Tom Roger Potter Sr., 68, Hawkins, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at his home in Hawkins.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 12, at Beaty Funeral Home in Hawkins. Burial followed at King Cemetery.

He was born March 18, 1939, in Marshalltown the son of Glen H. and Karolyn (Krupp) Potter. On Oct. 4, 1959 he married Joyce in Tama.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Randy and Rodney Potter; two grandsons, Corey W. Stinett and Craig Pierce; and a brother, Jim Potter.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, Hot Springs, Ark; son, Roger (Wendy) Potter Jr., Saline, Texas; daughters, Rae Anne (Pete) Wilkerson, Lindale, Texas, Barbie (Randy) Stinnett, Hot Springs, Ark., Rhonda (John) Crosby, Hawkins; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Fulmer, Branson, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of East Texas.

Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, Texas, was in charge of the arrangements.*
