OBITUARY
WANDA WIECK
Memorial services for Wanda Mae Wieck, 62, of Traer were held Tuesday, May 17, 1994, at the United Presbyterian Church in Traer, with burial to take place at a later date. Wanda died Friday, May 13, 1994, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo following an illness of several years.
The Rev. Rick Vesely officiated the service with Mrs. Leroy Whannel serving as organist.
Honorary casket bearers were Harold Vorba, Richard Beecher, George Roepke, Duane McNeal, Melvin Hach, Edward Hanes and John Campana. Serving on the flower committee were Mr. and Mrs. William Danker, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gates and Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Wiese.
Wanda Mae Wieck was born May 23, 1931, at Odebolt, Iowa, the daughter of Milton A. and Lola (Sonksen) Paul. She received her education through the eighth grade at Odebolt and then moved to the Traer area where she graduated from Traer High School in the Class of 1948. She continued her education at Iowa State University at Ames for two years.
She was united in marriage to Rudy Wieck June 24, 1950 at the United Presbyterian Church in Traer. Rudy and Wanda made their home in Traer all their married life.
In her spare time Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed spending time at Clear Lake and playing bridge.
She was a member of the Traer United Presbyterian Church, Bonne Volante, P.E.O. and the Iowana Club.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Rudy of Traer; her parents, Milton A. and Lola Paul of Odebolt; one son Fred and his wife, Lisa of Clear Lake; two daughters, Ann and her husband, Dan Schmitt of Traer, and Nancy and her husband, Rip Marston of Cedar Falls; one brother, Tom Paul of Cherokee Village, AR; one sister, Betty Buchanan of San Luis Obispo, CA; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Overton Family Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
