OBITUARY
William Tomlinson was born June 9, 1895, northwest of Traer, son of Joseph and Isabelle (Dinsdale Tomlinson). Will attended school in Buckingham Township and later began farming with his father.
On September 26, 1923 he married Janet Addison at Waterlooo, Iowa. After their marriage they began farming on the farm where their son Danald now lives and later where Wesley lives before moving to Traer in July of 1962.
In recent months William had become ill and was recently taken to Allen Hospital at Waterloo where he died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1976, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 6 days.
Will was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Traer and Hesperia Lodge No. 340 AF&AM. He is survived by his wife, Janet, two sons, Donald and Wesley, both of Traer, one grandson, Mark of Traer, four granddaughters, Mrs. Paul (Janice) Peters of Wellsburg, Audrey Tomlinson of Des Moines, and Renae and Wendy Tomlinson of Traer, also three sisters, Mrs. Jay Wilson, Annabelle Tomlinson, and Mrs. Estella Weiler, all of Traer.
Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at Overton Funeral Home in Traer with Rev. Glenn R. Kieken officiating for William (Will) Tomlinson of Traer, 81, who died Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Burial will be in Buckingham Cemetery. He was born northwest of Traer on June 9, 1895, the son of Joseph and Isabelle Dinsdale Tomlinson. He attended rural schools in Buckingham Township and then began farming with his father. On Sept. 26, 1923, he married Janet Addison at Waterloo. After their marriage, they farmed on the farm where their son, Donald, now lives and later they farmed on the farm where their son, Wesley, now lives before moving to Traer in July, 1962. He is survived by his widow, Janet; two sons, Donald and Wesley, both of Traer; three sisters, Mrs. Jay Wilson, Annabelle Tomlinson and Mrs. Estella Weiler, all of Traer; and five grandchildren.
