OBITURY

Faye Smith was born February 7, 1900, at Colfax, Indiana, daughter of John and Nellie (Slater) La Dow. Faye received her education in Indiana.

She came to Traer at the age of 18 and worked at the Traer Hotel before her marriage to Floyd Smith at Traer on October 27, 1919.

After Floyd's death on January 12, 1954, Faye moved to Denver CO, where she lived with her daughter.

In 1980 Faye became a resident of the Cedar Falls Health Care Center where she died Wednesday, May 8, 1985, at the age of 85 years.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Traer.

Faye is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Wilkie of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Melba Kascelansky of Clifton, NJ; Mrs. Dale (Bonnie) Warren of Boerne, TX and Mrs. Herbert (Beverly) Heth of Washburn, IA; as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchilddren.
