OBITUARY

ROY SIEMENS

Private family committal services were held for Roy Siemens, 90, of Traer, at Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. Roy died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1992 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer, where he had lived since February of 1990. The Rev. Donald Schoeppler of St. Luke Lutheran Church was to officiate at the committal service.

Roy Fredrick Siemens was born March 26, 1902 on a farm south of Traer, the son of Dirk and Ella (Hagedorn) Siemens. He received his education in country school near Traer, then began farming with his father.

On June 18, 1923, he was united in marriage to Geneva Greeen at New Hampton, IA, and the couple made their home farming near Traer.

In 1947, Roy and Geneva moved to make their home in Traer, while Roy continued to work for area farmers until his retirement in 1978.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard, Wallace and Raymond.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva of Traer; four brothers, Harry of Gladbrook, William and Eldon, both of Garwin and Arnold of Lincoln; three sisters, Helen Kahler and Elnora Schroeder, both of Gladbrook and Luella Thede of Reinbeck, and nieces and nephews.

Overton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
