OBITUARY
Henry W. Sieh was born December 11, 1901, in Traer, son of Ferdinand O. and Anna (Gosau) Sieh. Henry received his education in Traer High School and then began farming. Henry was a widely known farmer and during his early years was a cattleman and livestock dealer with his father, F. O. Sieh
An accident involving dynamite in 1948 changed the course of his life, leaving him an amputee of both hands and without eyesight. He continued an active interest in farming and conducted farming business many years with the help of trusted advisors. His spirit was an inspiration to other victims of misfortune and illness.
In November of 1977 he was hospitalized following a stroke and subsequently entered Americana Healthcare Center in Waterloo where Henry died Monday, February 25, 1985, at the age of 83 years.
Henry is survived by three sisters, Louise Sieh and Ann Sieh, both of Traer and Elsie Elmore of Beaman, Iowa, as well as several nieces and nephews.
