OBITUARY

LOREN SEEBACH

Loren R. Seebach, 69, of Dysart died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Loren will be held Thursday, April 16, 1998, 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Dysart with burial in the Dysart Cemetery.

Visitation hours will be held 1-8 pm on Wednesday with the family present from 4-8 pm.

The Rev. Rox Blix will officiate the service with Marilyn Mehlhaus sereving as organist.

Casket bearers are Lee Jones, Joe Coffey, Dean Evans, Gene Nelson, Dennis Wieben and Ron Miller. Honorary bearers include Don Lane, Bill Barnes, Bill Brandt, Wilbert Hach, Don Hugh and Jerry Reisen.

Floral tributes will be handled by Pauline Lewman, Marge See and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hildebrand.

Loren Ralph Seebach was born Sept. 5, 1928, near Dysart, IA, the son of Harold and Esther (Nelson) Seebach.

He received his education at Dysart graduating in the Class of 1946 and then continued his education at Iowa State Techers College, graduating in 1949.

On June 4, 1950, Loren was united in marriage to Lois Stratton at the E.U.B. Church in Dysart.

After teaching in Colorado for a time, Loren and Lois returned to Dysart where Loren owned a cabinet shop. Later he worked at Building Materials in Waterloo before receiving a fellowship for a Masters Degree in Industrial Arts.

Loren then taught drafting and industrial arts at West High in Waterloo until his retirement.

He was active in his church and community and served as Lions Club President for two years as funds were raised for the Dysart swimming pool.

As a devoted Lions member, Loren served as District Governor and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 1993.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister-in-law, Ramona Seebach.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Dysart; a son, Jeff Seebach of Oklahoma City, OK, a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Julie) Miller of Marshalltown, a brother Delos Seebach of Dysart; a sister, Lois Kay Wilson of Garland, TX and two grandchildren.
