OBITUARY

WALTER L. ROOT

OELWEIN-Services for Walter Levi Root, 79, who died early Wednesday morning at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein, will be held at 10:30 am Thursday at First Baptist Church, Oelwein. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Traer.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two sons, Curtis of Independence and David of Tripoli; eight grandchildren; a brother, Dan Root of Brookfield, MO; a sister, Mrs. Alice Sturm of Modesto, CA; friends may call afer 3 pm Wednesday at Brant-Kerns Funeral Home, Oelwein.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Root farmed for many years in the Dunkerton area.
