OBITUARY

Irene Elizabeth Paydon was born March 27, 1922 at Briston, RI; the daughter of William and Irene (Taylor) Head. She received her education in Rhode Island graduating from Coit High School.

On October 24, 1942 Irene was united in marriage to Colin J. Paydon at Bristol and they resided in Rhode Island while Colin was in the service and then they moved to Iowa to farm in 1942.

Irene was a secrretary in the Waterloo school system at Lafayette and Irving Schools for 28 years. She was a Golden Apple volunteer at Irving School for 10 years after her retirement.

In free moments she enjoyed her family, friends and wintering in Arcadia, FL.

Irene was also an active member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, 3 daughters; Mary Austin of Cedar Falls, IA; Ruth (Mrs. Robert) Chittenden of Hudson, IA; and Susan Young of Gurnee, IL; 2 sons, James (Linda) Paydon of Mora, MN and Robert (Alona) Paydon of Stoughton, WI, a sister Grace Silva of Bristol, RI and a brother, William F. Head of Bristol, RI and Arcadia, FL; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to attend the luncheon at the church fellowship hall.
