OBITUARY

NETTIE OVERTURF

Funeral services for Nettie M. Overturf, 91, of Traer, were held Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Overton Funeral Home in Traer with Pastor Robert Snyder, Clutier Community Church, officiating. Burial was in Waltham Cemetery, Elberon. Nettie died Wednesda,y, Sept. 1, 1999, at Covenant Medical Cenler in Walerloo.

Music for the service was provided by Judy Mason, organist and Natalie Peters, vocalist. Flowers were tended to by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Parizek and Mr. and Mrs. Darold Morris. Caskel bearers were Jerry Axmear, Dale Bidwell, Kenneth Johnson, Mike Overturf, Alan Peters, Mark Rollins and Jeff Johnston.

Nettie Mason Overturf was born Jan. 21, 1908 in Oneida Township near Clutier, the daughler of Elmer and Martha (Williamson) Mason. Nettie attended country school at Oneida #2 and Elberon High School.

In February of 1928 she was united in marriage to Lester "Mike" Overturf at Tama. They made their home farming their Century Farm in the Elberon and Clutier areas. In the fall of 1990 they moved to an apartment al Sunrise Terrace at Traer and then later moved 10 the home of her daughter in rural Reinbeck.

Lester's death came on Dec. 29, 1996 and in April of 1997 Nettie entered Sunrise Hill Care and Rehab Center.

Nettie was a member and involved, various Iadies groups in the Clutier and Elberon areas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Zeda and a twin sister in infancy; and three brothers, Everett, Herb and Elmer.

Nettie is survived by her son and his wife, Robert and Linda Overturf of Malcom; a daughter, Betty Johnston of Reinbeck; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
