OBITUARY

Scott Lewis Overton was born at Monticello, Iowa on December 14, 1952; the son of Milford and M. Ruth (Worthington) Overton. Shortly after Scott's birth the family moved to Dysart, where Scott received his education. Scott lived at home during his life and always maintained a positive outlook regardless of his disabilities.

Following Milford's death in 1976 Scott and his mother continued to live at the funeral home in Dysart. Scott helped out in many special ways at the family's furniture stores and funeral homes.

He also enjoyed visiting with his friends in the community during the visitation times at the funeral home. Scott was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching and listening to the games. He was always interested in the community, its people and activities. Scott will always be remembered for his ability to remember important dates and events that happened in the area.

In recent years Scott's health had failed and two recent bouts with pneumonia were too much for him to handle. Mother has cared for Scott all of his 42 years and at his passing he was surrounded by his family and we are confident that our father was there to meet Scott and show him the way. Scott is survived by his mother Ruth, three brothers and their wives; Lee and Marlene, Steve and Sharleen, Bruce and Barbara and many nieces and nephews. Scott was a special person and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
