OBITUARY
Viola Moeller was born July 16, 1894 in Dysart, Iowa; the daughter of August and Eliza (Shuett) Moeller. She attended school in Dysart and graduated from Dysart High School in the class of 1912. She spent two years teaching country school near Dysart. She then attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids from 1915-1919, majoring in Social Studies after which she began teaching in various high schools in Iowa. She taught one year in Mechanicsville, one year in the East Junior High School in Waterloo, two years in Dysart High School and thirty five years in the Traer High School from 1923-1958. In Traer she attended the graduation exercises of 1076 students.
She has been a resident of the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer where her death came on Tuesday, August 8, 1995 at the age of 101 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Dysart, and later transferred to Traer, Traer American Legion Auxiliary, Bon Homie Club, Ripley United Church of Christ & church circles,and was a life member of the Iowa State Educational Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Ervin, Herbert, Otto and Walter and one sister Hilda.
She is survived by a nephew Thomas R. Moeller of Evergreen, Colorado, a niece Jean Kraus of Lakeview, Arkansas and a sister-in-law Ellen Moeller of Dysart.
