OBITUARY

DELTA MARTIN

Delta Martin, 88, of Phoenix, Ariz., and formerly of Traer, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, following a lengthy illness. Graveside services were held in Salem, OR.

She was born Delta O'Kane in Waterloo and graduated from Orange Consolidated School in 1929.

In November 1929 she was married to Edward Martin. The couple lived on several farms before moving to Buckingham where Edward was in the trucking business. Later they moved to Traer where Delta was employed by various businesses including the First National Bank, Farmers Lumber, Traer Lumber and Ray Holst Implement. Her husband was employed by Funk Seed Company while the couple lived in Traer.

In 1975 they moved to Salem and later DeIta moved to Phoenix. Preceding her in death was her husband, Edward, who died in 1975. Edward was a cousin of Leonard Martin of Traer.

She is survived by two sons, Curtis and his wife of Phoenix and Melvin and his wife, Marlene of Newberg, OR; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law and his wife, Merle and Val Martin of Waterloo.
