OBITUARY

BETTY TAYLOR LANE

Betty Taylor Lane Betty Taylor Lane died Jan. 17 [1990] at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., of injuries suffered in a single car accident on Dec. 26 when her car went out of control and crashed. Mrs. Lane suffered a concussion but no broken bones in the accident, but after 15 days of hospitalization, an aneurysm developed in her head. Surgery was performed immediately, but she never regained consciousness. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 22 at Palm Desert, Calif., and she was buried at Desert Memorial Park.

Betty Taylor Lane, 63, was the daughter of Elmer and Ethel Taylor. She attended Traer Public School, graduating in 1944. She furthered her education at Drake University in Des Moines, and was married to Phillip Lane on Jan. 19, 1947 in Des Moines. The couple opened an interior decorating studio in Des Moines in 1949, and both of them worked in the business until 1965, when they moved to Palm Desert, Cslif., where they opened Phillip Lane Interiors, selling the business there in 1976.

Phillip Lane died Dec. 27, 1978 following several strokes. Betty continued to live in their home in Palm Desert occasionally helping other interior decorators in the area. She had spent the past several summers in Missouri with friends.

Betty is survived by twin daughters, Mrs. Robert (Melissa) Guzman of Indio, Calif., and Mrs. Ronald (Michelle) Norlin of La Quinta, Calif.; her mother Ethel Taylor of Traer, three granddaughters and one grandson.
