Funeral Card

Clarence "Dude" Kuhlenbeck was born April 6, 1916 at Burlington, Iowa, the son of Abin and Ayesha (McCarty) Kuhlenbeck. Dude received his education at New London Iowa and then began farming.

On December 2, 1936 he was united in marriage to Margaret Murphy at Kahoka, Missouri. Dude and Margaret then made their home farming around New London until their retirement.

On February 7, 1979 they moved to make their home in Traer, Iowa to be closer to their daughter Shirley. On May 23rd of this year he became a resident of the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer where his death came on Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the age of 84 years.

In free moments Dude enjoyed Iowa Hawkeye basketball and Chicago Dubs baseball.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Old Fellow Lodge and Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Delores Hausner and a sister Ferne Crapsey.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, one daughter and her husband Shirley and Richard Thompson of Traer, one sister Philsyleen Wasson of Winfield, Iowa, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
