OBITUARY

Richard A. Kubik ws born at Traer on December 7, 1920, son of John and Julia (Ledvina) Kubik. Richard received his education in Traer High School graduating from there in 1939.

On May 6, 1941, Richard married Martha Axler at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Aftrer their marriage, Richard and Martha farmed northwest of Traer for 28 years. In 1969 they moved to Cedar Rapids where Richard was employed by the Nissen Corporation where he built athletic equipment for 15 years.

In 1983 Richard retired and during his retirement enjoyed traveling, square dancing, golfing and small wood working. Richard also enjoyed his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.

In February Richard became ill with cancer and more recently was admitted to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids where he died Wednesday, March 27, 1985, at the age of 64 years.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one son Darrell and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Martha; two sons, Roger of Avoca, IA, and Kevin of Betttendorf, IA; as well as three grandchildren, Kerri Sue, Angela Lynn and Kory Darrell.
