OBITUARY

WILLIAM KOPRIVA

A Funeral Mass for William F. Kopriva, 93, of Traer, was held Monday morning, Jan. 25, 1999, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer officiated by Father John TiIp. Burial was in the church cemetery. A scripture service took place Sunday afternoon at Overton Family Funeral Home in Traer. He died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Music for the funeral service was provided by the St. Paul choir and Bonnie Kopriva, organist. Casket bearers were Eric Fee, Joe Kopriva, Larry Kopriva, Nicholas Kubik, Ted Welter and Jason Kubik. Floral tributes were handled by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kopriva and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kriz.

William Frank Kopriva was born July 24, 1905, in Carroll Township near Traer, the son of Joseph and Anna (Chalupnik) K?priva. Bill received his education in country school and then began farming with his family.

On Oct.14,1930 BilI was united in marriage to Eleanor Sevcik
at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clutier. Bill and Eleanor then made their home farming south of Traer until 1974 when they moved to Traer. Following Eleanor's death on April 26, 1994, Bill continued to live at home until June of 1995 when he became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

He will be remembered for his love of the land and raising polled Hereford cattle. Many people will also remember Bill for his long walks and when able he would walk from his home to Main Street every day.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife. Eleanor; three brothers, George, Louis and Joseph and one sister, Bertha Valenta. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Jean) Beecher of Traer, Mrs. Rodney (Teresa) Fee of Ackwonh, IA and Mrs. Don (Karen) Welter of Cedar Rapids; one sister. Mrs. Duane (Ann) Barr of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
