OBITUARY
Gladys M. Konicek was born in rural Dinsdale, Iowa on December 6, 1921 the daughter of John & Edith (Hancock) Bolt. Gladys graduated from Dinsdale High School and and then worked in Waterloo.
On February 28, 1947 she married Alvin Konicek in Missouri and they began farm ing east of Traer. In 1950 Gladys and Koonie moved to the home place west of Traer where they farmed for many years.
Gladys was an active homemaker and enjoyed her free time watching her grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed being a Hawkeye Fan, and well as gardening and an occasional trip to the casino.
In 1989 Gladys and Koonie retired from the fann to 214 S. Cherry St. where Gladys continued to make her home following Koonie's death on January 21, 1992.
Recently, Gladys had become ill and was a patient at Covenant Medical Center when her death came on Saturday, February 11, 1995 at the age of 73 years.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister. Gladys is survived by two sons, Gary of Naples, FL and Craig of Traer, two daughters Nancy Temple of Traer & Connie Anderson of Voorhies, three brothers, Ralph Bolt of Dinsdale, Morris Bolt of Reinbeck, and Bill Bolt of Sacramento, CA, as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
