OBITUARY
FUNERAL SERVICES for
Leonard T. Hulme was born near Traer November 29, 1899, son of Samuel and Margaret [Dinsdale] Hulme. He received his education in a country school and then began farming.
On December 12, 1925, Leonard married Janette Stoakes at Waterloo, Iowa, and they farmed near Dysart until 1933, when they moved to the farm where their son Paul lives. In 1955, they moved to their farm located north of Traer on Highway 63. After Janette's death on July 13, 1979, Leonard continued to make his home on the farm and wintered in Texas.
In December of 1986, Leonard became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer, and In recent months his health failed and his death came at Sunrise Hili on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1988, at the age of 88 years.
In his spare time Leonard enjoyed raising Shetland ponies, traveling and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers, two sisters and one great grandchild. Leonard is survived by two sons: Paul of Traer, Leland of Tarpon Springs, Florida; one daughter Mrs. Don [Margaret] Schrader of Hudson; one brother Dale of Traer; one sister Mrs. Luella Halupnik of Cedar Falls, as well as ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
