OBITUARY

FUNERAL SERVICES for ELMER H. EWOLDT
April 19, 1905 Jan. 16, 1985

Elmer H. Ewoldt was born April 19, 1905, in Carroll Township, Tama County, at the home of his parents Alfred and Clara [Kloppenberg] Ewoldt. Elmer received his education in a country school near Clutier and then began farming with his parents.

Elmer married Mildred Jacobsen on Dec. 11, 1929 in Davenport, Iowa, and they made their home for a short time on Mildred's parents' farm before moving to the Ed Powell farm, where they lived for 15 years. Since 1945, Elmer and Mildred have lived at their present farm south of Traer. Elmer's life was the farm and his family. As his sons grew older, they shared their father's interests in farming and Elmer worked extra hard to see that they each had an opportunity to have a life in farming as well.

In the past month Elmer's health failed and recently he became a resident of Sunnycrest Care Center in Dysart, where he died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1985, at the age of 79 years. Elmer is survived by his wife Mildred; four sons, Loren of Clutier, Royce and Norman of Traer and Sherman of Dysart; three brothers, Delbert of Clutier; Erwin of Dysart and Edwin of Traer; two sisters, Lorena Podhajsky of Reinbeck and Leola Dunlap of Dysart; as well as ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to join the family at the church following the committal services for food and fellowship. Those not attending the cemetery services are invited to remain at the church to meet with the family upon their return.
