OBITUARY

Milo E. W. Paustian was born on the family farm west of Traer, Iowa on January 23, 1920; the son of William and Lulu (Mildenstein) Paustian. Milo attended Country School at Perry No. 4, and graduated in 1937 from the Traer High School.

On August 27, 1941 Milo married Florence Starck in Schleswig, Iowa. they lived on a farm together until Milo entered the US Army in April of 1942. He sereved in the Military Police, stationed in Pasadena, CA and in Georgia.

After Milo's discharge, he and Florence returned to farming and moved to the family farm in 1948. they continued to farm until 1987 when Milo's health failed and he retired to Traer. They lived on Crestview Dr. until Milo entered the Sunrise Hill Care Center in 1992. His death came there Sunday afternoon March 6, 1994 at the age of 74 years.

Milo was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, and the American Legion all of Traer. Milo is survived by his wife Florence, one son and his wife, Steve and LaVonne of Waterloo, two daughters and their husbands; Barbara (Mrs. Bruce) Overton of Traer, Nancy (Mrs. Tony) Hardister of Charlotte, NC, one sister, LuEtta DeSocio of Visalia, CA. Mile is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Elmer.
