OBITUARY

Funeral services for Loana M. Ohrt, 78, of Dysart were held Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at the United Methodist Church in Dysart. The Rev. Ron Blix officated. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Grundy Center.

She died Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.

A memorial fund has been established.

Loana Mae Ohrt was born on Oct. 4, 1920 at Grundy Center, the daughter of Leroy and Johanna (Stumberg) Purvis. She received her education at the Grundy Center Schools and graduated in 1938.

On Aug. 23, 1944, Loana was united in marriage to Alvin Ohrt at Cedar Falls. They made their home in Dinsdale where they raised their family. They later divorced in 1967.

Loana worked for many years at the Ohrt Family Store in Dinsdale and later at Casey's in Dysart.

For the past 20 years she has resided in Dysart and enjoyed spending time with a good friend, Stan Howe. Loana also enjoyed flowers, birds and having coffee with friends uptown.

Loana was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sons; Gary (Celia) Ohrt of Marinette, WI, Darrell (Jan) Ohrt of Bloomington, MN and Tom (Marjorie) Ohrt of Iowa City; a daughter, Diana (Mrs. Steve) Posusta of Marshalltown; a brother, Don Purvis of Port Charlotte, FL; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
