OBITUARY

Funeral services for John Rose Morrow, 89, of Reinbeck, were held Saturday, Feb. 8, at Amity Presbyterian Church, rural Reinbeck with Student Pastor Mary Wilber officiating. Burial was in Reinbeck Cemetery.

Mr. Morrow died of natural causes Thursday, Feb. 6, 1997, at Parkview Care Center in Reinbeck.

John Morrow was born Oct. 21, 1907, in Crystal Township south of Traer. He was the son of John R. and Bessie (Rose) Morrow. He was educated in country schools through the seventh grade. He then attended school in Traer and graduated with the class of 1926.

After graduation he farmed with his father and continued to do so when they purchased a farm in Grant Township, south of Reinbeck, in 1930.

On April 28, 1934, he was united in marriage to Edna Petersen. The couple lived on the family farm until 1975 when John retired at which time they moved to Reinbeck.

John was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church and served as an elder and held many other offices in the church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant sister, Francis.

He is survived by his wife, Edna of Reinbeck; four children, Myrna Hays of Pearl, Miss., Robert Morrow, Ray Morrow and Max Morrow, all of Reinbeck; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
