OBITUARY

A funeral Mass for Milo R. Kubik, 81, of Traer, was held Friday, Dec. 4, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer, with burial at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1992, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

The Rev. Thomas Purtell celebrated the Mass, and music was furnished by Beverly and Ed Heinscheid, Mary Haaf and Mrs. Donald McLean. Casket bearers were Brad Greiner, Steve Buresh, Gene Seda, Mike Finn, John Kubik and Gene Kubik. Tending to floral tributes were Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Cizek and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buresh. Military rites were provided at the gravesite by Kubik-Finch Post of the American Legion.

Milo Robert Kubik was born on the family farm north of Traer Jan. 12, 1911, the son of Joseph and Mary (Yuska) Kubik. Milo received his education at the Buckingham school, then began farming with his father. In addition to their family farm, Milo and his brother Ted ran a sawmill for many years. Milo served his country in the US Army during World War II, then returned home to farm.

On Aug. 16, 1944, he married Emma Seda at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clutier and they farmed for many years north of Traer. In 1982, they moved to Traer. Milo especially enjoyed reading and always enjoyed going to the farm. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

He was preceded in in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Frank, and two sisters, Alba Mareska and Hernenia Dostal.

Milo is survived by his wife, Emma; and one son, Ray, both of Traer; three daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Judy) Regenold of Ocala, Fla., Mrs. Dennis (Patricia) Greiner of Reinbeck, and Mrs. Ed (Beverly) Henscheid of Waterloo; two brothers, Ted of Traer and Ed of Hudson; two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Mary) Stanek of Tama and Mrs. Leslie (Emma) Bern of Gladbrook; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
