Harriett Janvier

Harriett Janvier, 78, of Hockessin, Del., died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993 at a West Chester, Pa., hospital. She had been under care for cancer for some time.

Harriett was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Traer, the daughter of Margaret and Harry Everts. She graduated from Traer High School in 1932, then attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in Springfield, Mo., later transferring to Iowa State College in Ames, where she graduated. She interned as a dietician at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, then spent several years working as dietician at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital m Philadelphia.

Harriett married Philip H. Janvier Aug. 9, 1941, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in August of 1991 with a reception at their home. She was a member of P.E.O.

Harriett is survived by her husband, Philip; her son, Dr. George Jánvier of Plateau State, Nigeria; her son Vic and spouse Dolly, of near Wilmington, Del., and her daughter Peggy of Virginia Beach; Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Mildred Garbee and Thelma Willson.

Her. father, Harry Q. Everts, was a well known early Traer businessman.

The body is being cremated. A memorial service is pending.
