Funeral services for Noreen Ewing, 73, of Buckingham, will be held Thursday, July 20 at 10 a.m. at the Geneseo United Methodist Church in Geneseo Township. She died at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Monday, July 17, [1989]after becoming ill at her home last week. Burial will be in the Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

The Rev. Perry Plocher will officiate at the funeral service. LuAnn Pritchard is organist and Wayne Dunlavey will serve as vocalist. Casket bearers are Tim and Tom Ewing, and Scott, Shawn, Grant and David Strohbehn. Attending to flowers are Mr. and Mrs. David Draper and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mitchell.

Noreen Ewing was born August 22, 1916, in Geneseo Township, the daughter of William and Nettie (Meeker) Speer. She received her educaŽtion at Geneseo High School, graduating in the Class of 1933. She attended Pitzie School of Beauty and worked in Jesup, Iowa Falls and Traer, before marrying Gerald Ewing on November 25, 1936 at the Geneseo Church.

Noreen and Gerald farmed all of their married life in Buckingham Township, where Noreen was devoted to her family and friends, and was an active member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church, the church choir and was a lifetime award member of the United Methodist Women.
Noreen was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jere.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald of Bucking-ham; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Strohbehn of Gladbrook; one sister, Evelyn Gregory of Dike; eight grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Overton Funeral Home, Traer, is in charge of arrangeŽments.
