OBITUARY

Steven (Jake) Jacobs, 46, of Clutier died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000 as a result of an automobile accident on Highway V-18, six miles north of Clutier.

Funeral services were held Monday morning, Nov. 13, 2000, at the United Presbyterian Church in Traer with the Rev. Rick Vesely officiating. Burial followed in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Steven Dean Jacobs was born Nov. 11, 1953, at Waterloo, IA. He received his education in Traer, graduating from high school in the Class of 1972.

Jake then began working at Funks Hybrid Seed Corn Company at the Traer plant and later at Belle Plaine, IA.

On June 9, 1979, Jake married Sandra Seda at Clutier, IA and the couple made their home in the rural Traer community. In 1993 they moved to make their home in Clutier.

For the past several years Jake was employed as a shipping clerk at Traer Manufacturing and was on his way to work at the time of the accident.

In free moments he enjoyed spending time with his daughters, watching sports, playing softball and playing cvards.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Clutier; four daughters, Alicia of Cedar Rapids, Jenna, Breanna and Marah, all at home; his parents, Ron and Delores Jacobs of Traer; two brothers, Daron Jacobs of Traer and Joe Jacobs of Memphis, TN; one sister Deb Jacobs of Cedar Falls and paternal grandmother, Luella Jacobs of Traer.

Overton Family Funeral Home-Traer was in charge of arrangements.
