OBITUARY

Funeral services for Charlotte H. Beecher, 63, of Traer were held Saturday, Oct. 22, 1994, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer with burial in Grant Township Cemetery, Reinbeck, Iowa.

She died Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of cancer.

The Rev. John Tilp officiated at the service with music by Bonnie Kopriva, organist, and Wayne Dunlavey, vocalist.

Casket bearers were Beau Beecher, Rhett Beecher, Chris Stoakes, Nick Beecher, Jesse Stoakes, J. J. Beecher, Jon Beecher, Marcus Beecher, Jena Ewing, Alexandria Ewing, Matt Beecher, Bryan Beecher and Camden Ewing. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bitcon and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Claussen served on the flower committee.

Charlotte H. Beecher was born in rural Toledo on Aug. 9, 1931, the daughter of Louis F. and Emma (Kalinay) Novotny. She attended country school and graduated from Toledo High School in the Class of 1949.

On May 8, 1950, Charlotte married Richard Beecher at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Garwin. The couple made their home in Traer most of their married life. Charlotte was employed by various community businesses over the years and most recently was employed at the North Tama County School. In free moments Charlotte enjoyed her family, playing golf and crafts.

She was an active member of the Iowana Club, American Legion Auxiliary and her bridge club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one grandchild, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her husband, Richard; two sons, David Beecher of Vinton and Mark Beecher of West Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. David (Penny) Stoakes of Bettendorf and Mrs. Tim (Jill) Ewing of Buckingham; two sisters, Cecila Sieck of Tama and Marian Nelson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and 13 grandchildren.

Overton Family Funderal Homes-Traer was in charge of arrangements.
