John Breakenridge
Funeral services for John M. Breakenridge, 46, of Hudson, were held Wednesday morning, June 16, at the Hudson Community Church with burial in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. A Masonic memorial service was conducted by Coin Lodge of Reinbeck Tuesday evening. Mr. Breakenridge died Saturday, June 12, 1993, after having been ill with cancer for the past 4 ½ years.

John Breakenridge was born May 11, 1947, at Waterloo, the son of J. Maxwell and Wanda Wave Downing Breakenridge. He received his elementary schooling in Dinsdale school and graduated from North Tama High School with the Class of 1965.

He was united in marriage to Leslie Kay Olson of Eagle Center March 20, 1971. The couple resided for a short time in Waterloo and then moved to Hudson. John was employed in the Bindery Department of Control-O-Fax in Waterloo for 25 years. Ill health forced his retirement in October 1992.

He was a member of the Hudson Community Church, Masonic Coin Lodge in Reinbeck, ElKahir Shrine and the Shrine Oriental Band.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and one brother, William Ralph Breakenridge.

Surviving are his wife, Leslie Kay Breakenridge of Hudson; a daughter, Nicole, at home; one sister, Janis L. Herman of Dinsdale and three nephews.
A memorial fund is being established.
