FULLER, Roy Edward (1936 - 1994)

Roy FULLER

Funeral services for Roy Edward FULLER, 58, of Traer, were held Tuesday, June 14, at Overton Funeral Home in Traer with burial in Buckingham Cemetery. Roy became ill on his return trip from fishing in Minnesota and died at Sartoei Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls Saturday, June 11, 1994.

The Rev. Rick Vesely, pastor of the Traer United Presbyterian Church, officiated the service with Judy Mason serving as organist.

Casket bearers were Ike Rooks, Myron Kosanke, Jim Thompson, Pete Williams, Don Babinat and Leland Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Vokoun and Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCrary were in charge of floral arrangements.

Roy Edward FULLER was born March 29, 1936, at Salem, Ark., the son of William M and Myrtle (ENGLEN) FULLER. He attended school at Salem and graduated from Salem High School in the class of 1955. He then moved to Traer where he worked for area farmers and later for the Lone Pine Service Station as a mechanic.

Roy was married to Carol STOAKES June 28, 1957, at the Presbyterian Church in Traer. The couple made their home in Traer all their married life. Roy was a mechanic for various businesses in the area and was employed with John Deere tractor Works in Waterloo since 1969.

In his spare time Roy enjoyed drag racing, fishing and bicycling.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Oliver and Alfred.

Surviving are his wife, Carol of Traer, two sons, Steven of Traer and Curtis of Iowa City; one brother, Robert of Thayer, Mn.; one sister, Mrs. Roye (Irene) BUTLER of Harrisonville, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
