FLEMING, Logan Martin (1911 - 1987)

OBITUARY

Logan Martin FLEMING was the youngest of five children born to William R. and Lulu (CAMERY) FLEMING on September 25, 1911. He received his education in the Traer area, graduating from Traer High School in the class of 1929. Logan then farmed with his father until 1941 and on April 20th of the same year, he married Grace BOWEN. Logan then became employed by the Iowa Highway Commission and later by Concrete Material, working in Iowa and Tennessee. After WWII Logan and Grace returned to Traer where Logan was employed by Traer Lumber Company and later worked for area farmers. After Grace’s death August 27, 1982, Logan continued to make his home on the farm for a time before moving to Traer. On June24, 1984, Logan married Virginia BELL and they made their home more recently at 610 North St., Traer, where Logan became ill on Friday, October 9, 1987. He died that day at Covenant Medical Center at the age of 76 years. Logan is survived by his wife Virginia of Traer, two sons, Bill of Muquoketa and David of Marshalltown; one daughter, Mary Lou Van DOREN of Webster City, as well as thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
