J. Earl DINSDALE

Services for J Earl DINSDALE, 86, of Dinsdale, were held Friday, Aug. 9, 1996, at Amity Presbyterian Church, rural Reinbeck, with burial in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Mr. DINSDALE died Monday, Aug. 5, 1996, in Grand Rapids, Minn. while on a fishing trip to Minnesota.

The funeral service was officiated by the Rev. Keith Orr. Music was provided by Nancy Mitchell.

Casket bearers were Melvin Sweerin, Dennis Bolt, Chris DINSDALE, James FRANKEN, Michael HUMMEL, Mike Schick and Mike Peterson. Flowers were tended to by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Dick DINSDALE.

J. Earl DINSDALE was born Feb. 1, 1910, at Dinsdale, Iowa, the son of George and Elizabeth (MASON) DINSDALE.

Earl attended school at Dinsdale and graduated from Dinsdale High School in the Class of 1929. He then began farming with his father.

On Aug. 31, 1933, he was united in marriage to Doris HITE at New Hampton, Iowa. Earl and Doris made their home farming all their married life near Dinsdale.

In free moments he enjoyed working on the farm, painting, hunting and his yearly fishing trips to Big Balsam Lake.

Earl was a member of the Amity Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of the Traer Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Russell and two in infancy.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Donald and his wife Connie DINSDALE of Reinbeck; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Carole) FRANKEN of Allison and Mrs. Rolland (Phyllis) HUMMEL of Reinbeck; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
