Stanley DEDIC

Services for Stanley A. DEDIC, 70, of Traer, were held Monday morning, Jan. 18, at the Traer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marshall Monthei and the Rev. Rick Vesely officiating.

Burial was in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer, with military graveside rites conducted by Kubik-Finch Post 142 of the Traer American Legion.

Mr. DEDIC died at Covenant Medical Center Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, following a short illness.

Music for the funeral service was provided by Joleen Edwards. Casket bearers were Jake Froehlich, Ross Hamilton, Stanley Hladik, Lester Sevcik, Don Vojtech and Earl Hoeppner.

Floral tributes were handled by Phyllis Hladik, Mary Hamilton, Sally Sevcik and Barb Vojtech.

Stanley A. DEDIC was born Jan. 25, 1928, at Traer, Ia., the son of Joseph and Marie (PAVLICEK) DEDIC. He received his education at Traer graduating in the Class of 1945.

Stan entered the U.S. Navy and served his country in the Pacific. Following his discharge he worked as a carpenter for his uncle in Cedar Rapids.

On Jan. 30, 1949, Stanley was united in marriage to Barbara HAGEDORN at the Traer United Methodist Church. Stan and Barb made their home in Traer all their married lives, where Stan was a building contractor.

He was active member of the community serving on the City Council for 12 years and was active in Boy Scouts for several years.

he was also a member of the Traer United Methodist Church and the American Legion.

In free moments, Stan enjoyed his family, grandchildren, camping and traveling, which included a trip to Europe in 1994, visiting relatives in the Czech Republic.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Joseph Jr., and a sister, Dorothy FRANKEL.

Stan is survived by his wife, Barbara of Traer; five sons, Mark and Meressa of Traer, Dr. John of Burley, ID, David and Margaret of Mason City, Tim and Jackie of Idaho Falls, ID and James and Anna of Auburn, NE; two brothers, George of Traer and Bob of St. Louis, MO.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
